Maccasio faces stiff competition from controversial dancehall musician Shatta Wale, afro-dancehall star and BET Award-winner Stonebwoy and MOBO Award-winner Samini in the category.

Released in January 2018, “Dagomba Girl” was one of the early hit songs that drove fans crazy.

Produced by MOG Beatz and, mixed and mastered by Possi Gee, the song comes with a classic music video directed by Salifu Abdul Hafiz and features a cameo appearance from controversial socialite Rosemond Brown aka Akuapem Poloo.

Maccasio was one of the hottest musicians under the year in review as well: he collaborated with Patapaa on “That Girl” and “Basaa” with Article Wan.

He won the “Breakthrough Artiste of the Year” award at 3Music Awards 2018 and “Promising Artiste of the Year” at Ghana Music Awards South Africa 2018.

The ZOLA Music record label frontman ended 2018 with “Total Shutdown” concert in Bukom Boxing Arena, pulling over 4000 fans to the venue.
